The United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) collaborates with other UN departments, agencies, programs and funds to ensure an effective, proactive, and coordinated response to the problems of landmines and explosive remnants of war.
UNMAS has compelling content, with beautiful photography and resonant success stories, and their work is important and of interest to many facets of society.
It was essential that their new website reflect these qualities. There was also a unique requirement that the site feature two completely different home page designs, depending on how the user had accessed the site.
We created an engaging, image-forward solution with multiple entry points into the same website, differentiated by color scheme and layout, with a seamless funnel into deeper content.
Universal Layout
The client preferred a fixed layout so we designed a User Interface (UI) with big buttons and easy-to-read text that remains usable on all platforms and screen sizes.
Interactive Photo Galleries
The custom-built, dual-pane interactive photo gallery section allows users to simultaneously navigate between galleries and the photos within each gallery on the same screen.
Custom Integration
We wrote an intelligent program that pulls and formats only the relevant information in real-time from an antiquated third-party project information website.
